Week 4: Websites of the Day

Larry Ferlazzo’s website Websites of the Day contains links to useful websites that Ferlazzo has found. This site has so many resources that it is hard to pick a place to start. While going through the posts, one topic did catch my attention. This post was The Best Websites For English Language Learner Students In 2012 — So Far. This post has many different links to websites that help children who are English Language Learner students. Many of the sites listed are interactive sites that are helping children learn English.

One site that I think was awesome was GCF Learn Free’s reading site. GCF Learn Free’s reading site is very interactive. First the students can pick on a topic that they want to learn about. After they chose a topic, then they can choose between a word explorer, text explorer, video dictionary, and a fill in the blank activity. All of these resources allow ELL students to learn English in the way that they chose.
